Bobby Bell

Bobby Bell was born on June 17, 1940, in Shelby, North Carolina. He is best known for his career as a linebacker and defensive end with the Kansas City Chiefs. Bell was a member of the team when they won their first-ever Super Bowl Championship Title in 1969. Bell is nationally recognized for his football career and has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame. Bell began his career with the Chiefs, playing in the American Football League from 1963 through 1969, and in the NFL from 1970 until 1974. He was also a two-time AFL Champion, and in 1999, he was awarded the 66th spot on “The Sporting News” 100 Greatest Football Players. Bell has won numerous Hall of Fame titles over the years: the Shelby, North Carolina Hall of Fame, North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame, the University of Minnesota Hall of Fame, the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, and the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame as the Class of 2016. Since his retirement, Bell opened “Bobby Bell’s Bar-b-que” in KC, a chain with five locations that he owned and operated. Bell has since closed his BBQ joints, but he remains active in the community. Bell has shifted his focus to public speaking, donating to charities, and serving as an Ambassador for the Chiefs.
